Report on three days State Workshop
First Round Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization 29th to 31st January 2018
As instructed from the Director of Health Services Office and supervised by our Nursing Superintendent, Sr. E Diengdoh:
- One booth was set up near the entrance of the hospital.
- The main purpose of this programme is to eradicate Poliomyelitis, which affect mainly children
- The medical team from different institutions reach out to the children of many districts and localities.
- The aim of immunization is to administer Oral Polio Vaccines to children below 5 years
The vaccines were brought in a vaccine carrier for maintenance of cold chain by Miss Monica Kharkamni, ANM of Jaiaw Urban Health Centre
- Four staffs were arranged for this Programme:
- Sr Rica Felicia Marbaniang
- SN Vijita Marbaniang
- SN Iophika Mawlong
- ANM Dwiansimai Marwein
Day 1:
On the 29th of January 2018, 82 children below 5 years of age were immunized. Only 1 child above 5 year of age was immunized
Day 2:
On the 30th of January 2018, house to house visit was carried out within the hospital compound where 41 houses were covered. Only 5 children below 5 years of age were immunized.
In the booth, only 3 children below 5 years of age were immunized.
Day 3:
On the 31st of January 2018, 10 children below 5 years of age were immunized.
Conclusion:
The total number of children below 5 years of age who had been immunized with Polio Vaccine from 29th to 31st January 2018 were 100.
The total number of children above 5 years of age who had been immunized with Polio Vaccine from 29th to 31st January 2018 was only 1.
The total number of children being immunized with Polio Vaccine during the 1st round IPPI 2018 were 101.
The programme, on the whole, was a success due to the team effort.
