Emergency & Trauma Unit

Emergency Department is the window to the hospital, where most patients gets the first impression of the hospital. This is point of entry for all patients who get admitted to the hospital: as such it is the department that caters to almost 100% of inpatients and a large number of patients who do not require admission. The department manages the most serious patients before they are shifted to respective wards.

The hospital already has qualified team of doctors such as

Four trained nurses in Accident and Emergency Services from CMC Vellore which include:

The hospital also has a Licensed Blood Bank, 24/7 Laboratory Department, 24/7 Pharmacy department, Respiratory Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Radiology Department, Operation Theatres. Therefore, it would be a waste of resources if we did not upgrade the Emergency Department to Emergency and Trauma Unit.

  • 2017- 11,857 patients, out of which 7974 patients were admitted and 3883 patients were either referred or treated as Outpatient
  • 2018-14,576 patients, out of which 9554 patients were admitted and 5022 patients were either referred or treated as Outpatient.

After renovation the Department has successfully managed to upgrade in the following areas:
Infrastructure:

  • From only 2 beds to 8 beds (6 beds for general patients and 2 beds for High Dependency bed with dedicated area for dressing room for outpatient dressing, injections, nebulization etc.

  • New furnitures
  • Fresh Paint
  • New Tiles
  • New electrical wiring & accessories
  • Fast track cubicles
  • Waiting area for Patient’s attendant

New Equipments purchased in addition to the old equipments:

  • 8 trolleys
  • 1 Cardiac Monitor
  • 3 Pulse Oxymeter
  • 5 Wall mount stand

However, there are still many areas that need improvements in terms of Infrastructure – an approach road from the national highway with a security guard stationed at the gate 24/7.

Medical equipments: In priority of need:

  1. 4 Infusion Pumps
  2. 1 NIV Machine.
  3. 1 Portable USG Machine
  4. 1 OT Table for Minor OT Room and 1 Over Head Operating Lights
  5. Central Oxygen Supply along with Medical air supply for 2 beds
  6. Wall suction for 2 beds,
  7. 1 Portable Ventilator
